HANOI ROCKS were all over Finnish press and in the headline news this past weekend after 14,000 people came to see the band celebrate the release of their new album, "Another Hostile Takeover", by playing a free showcase last Friday (April 15) outside the Stockmann department store in Helsinki. The group performed on a stage right above the entrance to the department store, under the legendary Stockmann clock (probably the most famous meeting place in Helsinki). HANOI ROCKS played a 20-minute set of songs from the new album, and were scheduled to take part in an autograph-signing session in Stockmann's music department (in the basement); however, due to the size of the crowd, the autograph session was eventually cancelled.

I am with Vanda about the new hanoi not doing anything for me. I mean I have loved Hanoi for years and I so anticipated this new release but it kinda lacks the luster that there past releases have. Whats with Reggae Rocker

Am not impressed with the new 'Hanoi' either. It's even worse than the previous one.I mean, for a start the songs don't have Hanoi sound to them (like Oriental beat,Tragedy etc),and even worse, what's with hiphop, soul, reggae etc in this album?/Jesus!They have basically raped the Hanoi Rocks name.In my opinion.Am so upset :-(

Having recently moved to Stockholm I was pleasantly surprised to find Connie Bloom something of a neighbour, and a chilled out fella he is too. I saw him a day or two after this event and he was saying that Hanoi were expecting about 3 or 4 thousand tops. Ended up with nearer 12. The Clash on Broadway all over again
